A Lincoln man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl who died of a drug overdose.
Court records show 19-year-old Andrew Walker received oral sex from Serena Garrett hours before her March 25 death from an overdose of painkillers.
Ashley Jackson, who had asked Serena to babysit her 1-year-old twins, has been charged with child abuse in the incident at her home.
Court records say Jackson brought Walker and two 14-year-old boys to her home and supplied them with alcohol and drugs. After Jackson left, court records say, Serena took painkillers, had sexual contact with Walker and fell unconscious. She was pronounced dead at a hospital.
The public defender's office is representing Walker and Jackson but hasn't yet assigned their cases.
