A 47-year-old La Vista man is in critical condition after crashing his SUV Tuesday night.
Police say it took 20 minutes to get him out of the wreckage near South 96th Street and Cornhusker Road following the accident around 8 p.m. He was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha by medical helicopter.
Witnesses told police the man was driving erratically. “There are some open containers in the vehicle, so we're looking to see if alcohol is a factor,” said La Vista Police Sgt. Brian Stolley. “Due to the damage, we'll see if speed was involved as well."
The driver's name has not been released.
