A lawsuit accusing the Nebraska Department of Administrative Services of allowing a supervisor to demean and discriminate against men in her department has been filed in Nebraska's federal court.
The lawsuit, first filed last year by Mike Hoover against the state and two Administrative Services officials, was moved to Nebraska's federal court this week.
Hoover says in the lawsuit that during his employment with the department from March 2007 to February 2010, his female supervisor made derogatory remarks about male employees, allowed women more flexibility to work from home than men and favored women for pay increases.
The lawsuit says that when Hoover complained, both his supervisor and the department's director retaliated against him, forcing him to resign.
The state denies Hoover's accusations in its reply to the lawsuit.
