A Lincoln man stabbed during his daughter's birthday party died Wednesday morning.
Police called to a residence on the 6600 block of South 21st Street just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday found 46-year-old Sujay Nooka suffering from a stab wound to the chest. He was taken to the hospital but died just before 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Sujay’s father-in-law, 77-year-old Bayapa Lingala, was arrested for second-degree murder and use of a weapon to commit a felony. Bayapa, who lived with the victim, was still in the home when officers arrived. He was taken into custody without incident. The knife believed to have been used was recovered.
Investigators have not yet determined what prompted the assault.
