Three men have been arrested for the murder of a man at a Lincoln apartment complex this past summer.

Twenty-one-year-old Maurice Williams was found at the LionsGate Apartments at Vine Street and El Avado Avenue just after 1 a.m. on August 30th.

Derick Lewis, Joshua Nootenboom-Caar and Jason Holmes face charges in what police call a drug-related robbery. Police say Nootenboom-Caar and Lewis went to the apartment and they believe Nootenboom-Caar shot Williams while Holmes waited in a car.

A rifle believed to have been used in the murder was recovered in September. A fingerprint belonging to Nootenboom-Caar was found on the rifle.

Lewis and Nootenboom-Caar were already in jail on unrelated charges. They're now facing charges of first-degree murder and attempted robbery. Nootenboom-Caar was also cited for use of a firearm to commit a felony and possession of a stolen firearm. Holmes faces charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit robbery.
