An arrest was made Saturday afternoon in the murder of a Lincoln man shot just after midnight Friday.

Police said 21-year-old Kashius Haynes turned himself in at 3 p.m. in connection with the death of 38-year-old Nathaniel Morton Sr.

About 20 people were gambling at Morton's home near North 29th and Fair streets when Morton got into an argument with Haynes, who allegedly pulled a gun and shot Morton in the chest. He was taken to Bryan West hospital where he died.

Morton leaves behind a wife and four children. Co-worker Katherine Freiderich said Morton always had a smile on his face and made a positive impact on others' lives.

Haynes faces a second-degree murder charge.
