OMAHA A suspected burglary led to a shooting early Tuesday morning in Omaha.
According to police, Jorge Ramirez, 29, was shot when he broke a large picture window and tried to crawl into the victim's home.
The homeowner tells WOWT 6 News that everyone was sleeping in the house, they heard someone outside hitting the window, then heard the glass break and he went to check it out. He reportedly saw Ramirez crawling through the window and shot him.
Ramirez is currently at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center in fair condition.
The homeowner says that he is relieved that Ramirez is expected to survive, and believes he may have been under the influence of some sort of drugs or alcohol.
Police have not said whether Ramirez or the homeowner will face any charges. The investigation is ongoing.
