Devaughn Griffin is facing up to 70 years in prison for the death of Jer'ray Moore. He was sentenced on Tuesday.
Griffin entered a plea of guilty to Second Degree Murder in November for the death last April. He was initially charged with First Degree Murder.
He was sentenced to a term of up to 50 years on the murder charge and up to 20 years on a weapons charge with those penalties to be served consecutively. He will be eligible for parole in 32 ½ years.
Jer’ray Moore, 23, was shot to death April 6 near North 83rd Street and Underwood, in an apartment she shared with Griffin’s ex-girlfriend.
