A Scottsbluff, Nebraska man is behind bars for allegedly pushing another man down a flight of courthouse stairs following a protection order hearing.
A 64-year-old man was granted a protection order Friday for his 19-year-old special needs daughter to keep 27-year-old Levi Wood away from her.
As the two men left the courtroom, Scotts Bluff County Sheriff's Department deputies said Wood shoved the older man as he approached the stairs. The older man was taken to the hospital and treated for wrist, shoulder and back injuries.
Deputies pounced on Wood as soon as the incident occurred, arresting him on suspicion of third-degree assault. Wood remains in the Scotts Bluff County Jail and could not be reached for comment Saturday.
