Man Pleads Guilty To Selling Methamphetamine

An Iowa man will spend at least five years in federal prison after pleading guilty to distributing methamphetamine in the northwest corner of the state.

Federal prosecutors say Esmelin Belloso-Valle pleaded guilty last week to selling meth and conspiring with others to sell it.

Prosecutors say the 48-year-old was involved with selling meth in the Sioux City area in 2011 and early 2012.

Belloso-Valle and some of the people he was involved with sold more than 200 grams of methamphetamine to undercover police officers. And at least one of those sales happened near a school.

Belloso-Valle's minimum sentence will be five years, but he could be sentenced to a maximum of 80 years in prison.
