A man was found dead in a field on Sunday. Police said there was no indication of any kind of trauma.
The Cassgram reports Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that his office is investigating the death of a 62-year-old Lincoln man. Deputies and Eagle–Alvo rescue volunteers were dispatched to a field south of Highway 34 along 262nd Street where an unresponsive man was in a pickup truck.
Robert Schomaker of Lincoln was found dead in the pickup truck, said Brueggemann. The investigation shows the truck went off the road, across a bean field, and came to a stop in a corn field which had already been harvested.
An autopsy has been ordered to determine the cause of death.
