A 33-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder after a Sioux City fight that escalated into a shooting.
Fernando Jaimes-Martinez remained in jail on Monday, pending bail of $1 million. Jaimes-Martinez also faces felony charges of intimidation with a dangerous weapon and of willful injury.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred early Saturday morning on the west side of Sioux City. Police say witnesses reported that several people were stabbed when the fight started, and then gunshots rang out.
Police say a 27-year-old woman was hit and killed. Her name and the names of the other injured people and their conditions haven't been released.
