Lincoln police are now investigating a late-night assault and robbery in the northeast part of town.

Just after 10:30 p.m. Monday, officers were called to the Dollar General near 1st and Dawes. The 19-year-old victim assault victim told police a man approached him and talked to him about buying drugs. When the victim said he was not interested, the man punched him.

That's when police say three more men came up and began hitting the teenager, knocking him to the ground and taking his wallet, cell phone and cigarettes.

The first suspect is described as a black man in his early 20s, about 5'5" tall with a skinny build and corn rows. The other three suspects are only described as being about 22 to 25 years old. A newer red Chevy Cobalt with black rims may be involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call Lincoln Police at 402-475-3600.
