Fremont Police arrested a 36-year-old Grand Island man early this morning after he was accused of attempting to start a fire and assaulting two people with a knife.
Interim Chief Jeff Elliott said officers responded to a 911 open line at a business/residence in the 100 block of North Main Street.
Elliott said officers were able to determine that Jason Wicht had attempted to start a fire in the building and also attacked two men with a knife. Elliott said the victims sustained superficial injuries.
Wicht was arrested for first-degree arson, second-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
