Man Accused of Assaulting Girlfriend, Pregnant Daughter

Lincoln Police have a man in custody following a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend.

Just before 9:00 p.m. Monday, police were called to a house in the 2400 block of South 10th Street for an assault.

Lincoln Police say said an argument turned physical between a woman and 40-year-old Jeff Hawkins broke out. Police say the woman's daughter's stepped in.

According to Officer Katie Flood, Hawkins then punched a 23-year-old daughter in the face. Flood says he then repeatedly pushed the woman's 21-year-old, pregnant daughter.

She says Hawkins then grabbed a knife to threaten the children and woman until he was able to leave the house.

Officers found Hawkins near the Kentucky Fried Chicken at 20th & South Streets where he was taken into custody.

Hawkins was lodged in jail for third degree assault on a pregnant woman, third degree domestic assault, third degree assault, two counts of making terroristic threats, two counts of use of a weapon to commit a felony and child neglect.

Police say the girlfriend's 15-year-old daughter witnesses the fight.
