Nebraska Lt. Gov. Lavon Heidemann is traveling to Oklahoma for an annual gathering of lieutenant governors.

Heidemann is scheduled to depart Tuesday for the National Lieutenant Governor's Association meeting in Oklahoma City. The meeting of Republican and Democratic lieutenant governors runs through Friday.

The association says this year's meeting will focus on immigration reform, the farm bill, health care reforms and energy issues.

Lieutenant governors will also hear from their peers who led responses to tornadoes, storms, and tragedies such as the shooting at Newtown, Conn. Retired U.S. Army Gen. Tommy Franks will also speak at the meeting.
