"Lost Pets Of Omaha Area" Facebook Page

Often, our pets are more than just pets. When they are lost, it's heartbreaking. Two Omaha women are making it their mission to track them down.

"The word is getting out there and the pets are getting back home." said Rochelle Timperley,

It's Rochelle and Cathy Eaton's personal mission. Back in February, the ladies started the "Lost Pets Of Omaha Area" Facebook page.

Cathy says, "If we hear about someone who has lost a dog, we'll reach out to them and ask do you want us to put it on our page."

Cathy and Rochelle do not charge to put any missing pet on their page. They don't stop there. They even volunteer and go out into neighborhoods to help families search.

Cathy said, "I had a gal the other day who couldn't get away because she had important meetings and she called and said can you go down there...and I said yeah, I'll go down there."

The ladies used their own money to have magnets made for their cars, so people know why they are driving slow through neighborhoods.

Missing Pets

They also offer tips to owners, simple ways you may be able to lure your pets home. They suggest putting clothes out that smell like you. Also, put a bowl of the dogs food outside. In one recent case it worked.

"They went out, drove around, they came back and the dog was in the front yard of the house eating food out of its bowl." said Rochelle.

As the page grows, they post success stories. Oscar was found, Chase was, too. Their only hope is more people join and more pets are reunited with their owners.

"Every person that sees a post increases that animals chance of being found."

The ladies say they have spent several hundred dollars out of their own pockets, but it's worth it. They both love animals, and love being able to bring them home.
