Longest Married Iowa Couple Honored
Iowa's longest married couple was recognized this weekend in Cedar Rapids. Jack and Ann Dwyer have been married for 77 years.
They met at a dance when they were teenagers. Jack is now 98 and Ann is 97. “The Lord has been with us and given us pretty good health,” says Ann. “We're thankful for that and thankful for our family."
The Dwyers have three children, 11 grandchildren, five great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and 10 step great-grandchildren.
The couple says the key to a long marriage is patience.
