A Belgian study reveals children who are exposed to chemotherapy while in the womb develop as normally as kids in the general population.
Researchers assessed 70 children who were exposed to three to four rounds of chemo during their mother's pregnancy.
They found no difference in IQ, hearing, growth or overall health between these children and their peers.
Chemo-exposed children who were born prematurely did have lower cognitive scores -- but they were similar to other children who were born pre-term.
