Authorities say a Lincoln police officer saved the life of choking baby.
Police say the one-year-old girl was choking on a balloon and not
breathing when Officer Ryan Duncan arrived at the scene around 6:30
According to police, Duncan performed "back blows" on the baby until
part of the balloon dislodged. The Mayo Clinic describes "back blows" as a first aid technique in which a choking child is thumped on the back while positioned with his or her head down.
The baby was taken to a hospital and was expected to recover.
