A Lincoln man has been imprisoned for beating a two-year-old boy.
Twenty-three-year-old Charles Guerrero had pleaded no contest to felony child abuse. Lancaster County District Court Judge Robert Otte sentenced Guerrero on Tuesday to one-to-two years in prison.
Police had been sent to a north Lincoln apartment on June 2 to investigate a child abuse report.
A woman told officers that Guerrero had been left to watch her grandson as she and the boy's mother went shopping. She says that
when they returned, the little boy was having trouble standing on
his right leg or sitting.
Medical personnel reported finding redness, bruising and swelling on the boy's buttocks and the back of his upper thighs and bruises on his head and a foot.
