The death of a Lincoln man remains a mystery and police are looking for help from the public to find out what happened. They believe he may have been hit by a vehicle.
On Saturday, Lincoln police found 47-year-old George Ike behind a building injured.
Ike told hospital staff that he had been hit by a vehicle, but later changed his story and said that he was assaulted.
Later that evening, Ike died from his injuries.
An autopsy revealed that his pelvis and ribs were broken, which police say is consistent with injuries caused by being hit by a vehicle.
Ike was homeless. Lincoln Police are looking for anyone that may have information about what happened the night he died.
Due to the nature of his injuries, it is highly unlikely that it occurred much further from where he was located. At the time, George may have been wearing a brown coat, red Nebraska sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Lincoln Police 402-441-6000.
