A five hour standoff with a fugitive in Lincoln came to an end Thursday afternoon with the arrest of the suspect.
The Metro Area Fugitive Task Force located Jeremiah Burkhart, 33 at the Quality Inn and Suites located near NW 12th and West Bond at approximately 10:30 A.M.
Burkhart was wanted on an outstanding Felony Warrant for Unauthorized Use of a Financial Device.
He barricaded himself in one room of the hotel, with other rooms on that floor being evacuated.
Because Burkhart was believed to be armed and had made threats toward law enforcement, the Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Unit was called in to handle the situation.
Streets around the Hotel were shut off to all traffic.
Burkhart was arrested shortly after 3:30.
Another man was also found in the room. He's identified as Kevin Gaylord, 27, of Lincoln. Authorities were not aware he was present until they got into the room. Gaylord was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant.
