An Omaha convenience store clerk says she was ripped off by a customer she was trying to help. Police are looking for him.
Surveillance video from the Conoco convenience store near 24th and Leavenworth shows clerk Nicki Plum leaving the counter to get an item for a customer. When she walked away, he allegedly grabbed $80 worth of cigarette lighters and walked out the door.
Nicki said, “Here I am working and people just come in and take things for granted. They don’t feel like they have to buy anything. We have theft here all the time. It’s ridiculous anymore. Especially, this was an older gentleman - someone who knows better.”
If you know anything about the theft, contact Omaha Crime Stoppers at 402 444-STOP or you can use the link on our Crime Stoppers page.
