Library grant to digitize newspapers. The Nebraska State Records Board awarded the Plattsmouth Public Library $23,742 to digitize its newspapers on microfilm. The cost to digitize the entire collection of Plattsmouth newspapers from 1865 to 2003 is approximately $90,610. This grant, along with $2,000 pledged by the Plattsmouth Public Library Foundation, and another donation, brings the total funds raised to nearly 28% of the goal.
The Cassgram reports the library has submitted another grant request and will be submitting additional applications. Some of the donation money received at the library will be used for this project.

-Donate to the Plattsmouth Public Library Foundation, 401 Avenue A, Plattsmouth, NE 68048. The foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, so your donations are tax-deductible.
-There are some missing newspaper issues and if you have copies you are asked to contact the library. The missing issues list is on the library’s website linked via www.plattsmouth.org.
