Video Update: Let There Be 'Holiday' Lights
Thousands of people celebrated a holiday tradition Thanksgiving night for the Holiday Lights Festival in downtown Omaha.
Around 6:15 p.m. Omaha Mayor Jim Suttle led the crowd at the Gene Leahy Mall with a 10-second countdown -- and then someone flipped the switch to the more than million lights.
But you don't need a million lights to make tradition. In Rich Lammer's case, 36,000 lights do the trick.

This year, the lights and music choreography spread to his neighbor's yard at 193rd and U Streets.
Last year, the public chipped in $250 for the entertainment, which was passed along to Make-A-Wish.
This year, Lammers plans to do the same thing with the donations.
His lights will be on every evening during the holidays.
The Holiday Lights downtown are on from 5 p.m. - 1 a.m. until January 6.
The ConAgra ice rink opens on December 9.
