Nebraska Rep. Lee Terry has filed for re-election. The Republican has represented the 2nd congressional district since 1999.
"The footprint of government is invading every part of our lives and there couldn't be a more important time for our community to have a voice in Washington fighting against this expansion of government and fighting for the priorities that can make a real-life difference in our day-to-day lives," Terry said in a statement released Saturday.
"Now more than ever we need real-time transparency in government so that we can hold Washington accountable, particularly with the debacle that has been the president's health care plan. I am going to continue this fight, our fight and it's my hope that this community will continue to stand with me."
Earlier this week, the Lee Terry for Congress campaign announced it's strongest fundraising cycle to date, raising almost $1.2 million with more than $818,000 cash-on-hand.
