The La Vista Volunteer Fire Department will host its annual open house event, 1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, October 14 at the District One Station, 8110 Park View Boulevard.
Several live demonstrations are scheduled throughout the afternoon, including:
· Smoke Trailer – all afternoon
· Jaws of Life – 1:30 and 3:30 p.m.
· Life Net helicopter – 2-3 p.m.
This event is in conjunction with National Fire Prevention Week.
The open house will feature many pieces of fire and rescue equipment on display, a visit from the Life Net Helicopter, Child ID kits, blood pressure screenings, fire and injury prevention information, disaster preparedness and much more.
Children will have the opportunity to make their own fire truck and they’ll take home their own coloring book.
