La Vista is getting a handle on where it is so it can figure out where it’s going. A focus group is helping with that.
Hundreds of residents in La Vista were invited to a special meeting Monday night with a goal of providing an update on the city and getting feedback for the future.
The La Vista Public Library served as the gathering place Monday
The meeting is essentially a focus group on community engagement. Invitations went out at random to 600 La Vista residents inviting them to a session on either Monday or Wednesday evening.
First, city officials plan to discuss some of the big things going on in the city like the half cent sales tax on the ballot in May and the plan for 84th street. Then, most importantly, they want feedback.
They're trying to increase community engagement so they want to find out what people think would be the best way for them to do that. They hope to create more commissions and boards to get people involved.
The meeting is for those people who sent in their RSVP but if anyone else has any comments or feedback they can contact the city.
The meeting on Wednesday will take place at the La Vista Community Center.
