Voters in La Vista have given a thumbs-up to moving a sweeping redevelopment plan forward.
They were asked to approve a half-cent bump in the city’s sales tax with the money earmarked for use in the Vision 84 plan.
That project targets the redevelopment of a blighted stretch along 84th Street largely abandoned by businesses that once flourished there.
Votes approved the tax hike by a margin of 60 percent to 40 percent.
