Co-workers of Andrea Kruger told Channel 6 they are relieved that there has been an arrest for her murder. Kruger was well known and well liked in the community. She had worked at several bars in West Omaha.
Adam Palzkill has worked at The Cove Lounge and Grill for about a year. He worked with Andrea Kruger while she was there. “We worked every Friday night together,” said Palzkill.
Palzkill was one of the many who were shocked and saddened when hearing of her death and also a bit scared. “It made a lot of people fearful. There would be one person closing at night, but now we have other people stay till 2 a.m. to make sure there's no one in the parking lot, or no one getting followed, anything like that."
Now with news of an arrest Palzkill said there’s a sense of relief. “It makes us feel a lot more safe, a lot more comfortable.” He also said, “I think everyone will appreciate that he's not out on the streets anymore."
Many of Andrea’s co-workers said they are happy about an arrest, but they said it still doesn’t bring Kruger back, so they’ve been showing their support by selling bracelets. All the proceeds go to Andrea’s husband and three kids.
Also wanting to help the family, workers at On The Rocks. Andrea worked there for more than seven years. They’ve posted a sign inside the bar asking people to donate to the family and giving them the bank information.
Also, they’re planning an online auction at proxibid.com. The auction will start October 1st and go through October 12th. Then on October 12th they will also hold an event. Their hope is to raise $100,000 for the Krugers.
“All the profits are going to the family. It doesn’t bring closure, it doesn’t make anything better, but I hope it helps them out just a little bit,” said On The Rocks Owner, Brian Houston.
