136 Korean War veterans left Eppley Airfield early Tuesday for an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C.
The group will spend the entire day in the nation's capitol visiting the Korean War Memorial and several others. They are scheduled to return to Omaha at 11 p.m.
A group of Iowa Korean War veterans will make the same trip Wednesday.
Honor Flights send veterans to D.C. to visit the memorial dedicated to their service free of charge. Honor Flights were originally created to send World War II veterans on the trip, but have since expanded to include Korean and Vietnam veterans.
