The City of Omaha has taken control of The Knolls golf course, located near 120th and Maple.
The management group that was running the 18 hole course was not operating properly under the contract with the city. Interim Parks Director, Brook Bench could not get into specifics, but said it was a legal issue.
The transition happened on Friday with city staff taking the place of Knolls employees. According to Bench, employees working under the previous management group were let go. The city is also providing golf carts.
The rate for golfers playing the course will remain the same rate as all other city courses.
Bench said the management company would have to work out the legal issues with the city to ever regain the course, but he said the city would like to run it permanently.
