Omaha Police Officers were dispatched to a robbery at the Big Bear Sinclair station at 52nd and Maple early Thursday morning.
A witness, 29-year-old Peter Shimmel, told officers the robber had pulled out a kitchen knife and demanded cash. Shimmel attempted to grab the knife away from the robber. The attempt failed and Shimmel was cut on the finger.
A rescue squad was called to the scene but Shimmel said he didn't need to be transported to a hospital.
The robber fled the area on foot. Officer made a search of the nearby area but found no one.
