As the school year winds down for some kids, a group of sixth graders spent the day learning outdoors on Thursday.
The group from King Science Center took part in outdoor education at Schramm State Park. The activities included archery.
Teachers say it's all part of exploring and growing in new ways.
Vincent Gregorio teaches sixth grade at King Science Center and he said, "First you see them kind of be afraid to really pull the string back and let it go. After a while they really start letting it fly. They start having a lot of fun with it."
The group will stay overnight and work on other team-building exercises like high ropes and trust courses.
