They were kicking for a cause to kick start the weekend. A 24-hour kick-a-thon wrapped up Saturday afternoon at Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping near 76th and Dodge in Omaha. The event welcomed anyone with a food or cash donation to take part to benefit the Open Door Mission.
In exchange, the Farrell's team was fighting hunger, punching and kicking for 60-minute intervals for a full 24 hours.
“It gets better every year,” said participant Dave Engel. “I sweat more every time. Next year is going to be even better so come join us." How was he feeling? "Awesome. Tired, but worth it, time well spent."
Guests were also allowed to take part in kickboxing classes with a food or cash donation.
