Judges Take Probation Seriously

A 40-year-old Plattsmouth woman was sentenced to six months in Cass County Jail for violating terms of probation. She plead guilty last year to three misdemeanor counts of attempted criminal non-support.

The pleas were part of an agreement in which felony charges were amended to the misdemeanors, a restitution schedule was set up and probation was recommended to the judge which he granted.

Evelyn Hoschar had been behind over $24,000 on court-ordered child support payments dating back to 2003. Last year’s restitution agreement was for $4,800 to be paid for the two children in $200-a-month payments. Hoschar had not been making the regular payments, but made a $2,500 payment last month.

She was given credit for 20 days already served in jail.
