One county reports little change job report. The latest monthly rate (December ‘11) is higher than the month before but a full percentage point lower than the rate a year earlier.
The Cassgram reports that according to the Nebraska Workforce Development-Department of Labor report, the December (preliminary) unemployment rate in Cass County was 4.8%.
The county’s rate was at 4.1% in November (revised). The rate was 4.2% in October, 4.5% in September and 4.9% in August.
The county unemployment was at 5.8% in December of 2010.
The December 2011 rates from neighboring counties with the change from a year earlier in [ ]: Otoe 4.2% [+0.2], Lancaster 3.7% [+0.2], Saunders 4.5% [+0.1] and Sarpy 4.3% [unchanged].
The statewide seasonally adjusted rate was 4.1%, unchanged from November and down two-tenths of a percentage point from December 2010.
The December national jobless rate was 8.5%, unchanged from November and down nine-tenths of a percentage point from December 2010.
