Jazz on the Green gets underway, again, Thursday at Turner Park. The free concert series kicks off at 7 p.m., with Mike Gurciullo and his Las Vegas Lab Band.
Gurciullo is back home in Omaha after a successful Las Vegas music career. His style is described as a cross between big band and Frank Sinatra.
Sponsors help Omaha Performing Arts bring music to the people, said Trisha Hoffman-Ahrens, Marketing and Communications Director. "This community helps us take care of these great buildings - the Orpheum and the Holland. It helps us present such great artists here from Broadway to jazz," she said. "This is our chance to give back a wonderful series to the community."
The concert series will continue every Thursday night through August 16. Free parking is available at Midtown Crossing.
Last year, Hoffman-Ahrens said, 50,000 people attended the series. They're hoping to see even more music fans this year.
