The former Gretna City Administrator, who admitted to stealing money from the Senior Center, will serve jail time.
Colleen Lawry was sentenced to a total of 6 months in jail and a $2,000 fine for theft by deception and official misconduct. Once she's out of jail, she'll be on probation for 18 months.
She took a plea deal in September, which reduced two of the charges from felonies to misdemeanors.
Lawry had been accused of using roughly $650 dollars belonging to the Gretna Senior Center to buy things for herself, knowingly using public funds for her personal use, and lying about taxpayer-reimbursed educational expenses to the tune of just more than $3,250 dollars.
She had faced a maximum of two and a half years in jail and/or a $3,000 fine.
