A severe thunderstorm warning is in effect for Nemaha County in Nebraska until 5 p.m. and eastern Fremont, southeastern Mills, southern Montgomery and Page counties in Iowa until 5:15 p.m. Sunday.
The death of a female prisoner at the Saunders County jail will prompt a grand jury investigation required by law. However the County Attorney Scott Tingelhoff told Channel Six news the death does not appear suspicious at this time. Tingelhoff said an autopsy will be conducted today but results including toxicology could take days or weeks.
47 year old Gloria O'Connor was found unresponsive in a cell a few days ago. She was taken to a hospital and placed on life support then died yesterday.
O'Connor had been in jail on a Dodge County charge but faced a charge of assaulting a corrections officer while in the Saunders county jail.
