A shake-up is in progress at the Douglas County jail. Staff members accused of potentially criminal behavior are no longer working there.
Someone reported witnessing sexual contact between guards and inmates. Douglas County Corrections called the sheriff's office.
County prosecutors will decide if the behavior was criminal. So far, there have been no arrests.
Jail Director Mark Foxall released a statement saying, "Staff misconduct was identified. I directed an immediate internal investigation. The investigation identified potential criminal conduct; the matter was immediately referred to the Douglas Sounty Sheriff's office. We are cooperating fully with their ongoing investigation."
