A Nebraska sheriff has done it again. He purchased 350 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to show his support for youth programs. But don’t expect him to eat them all.
Cass County Sheriff Bill Brueggemann will place the cookies on the commissary for the inmates at the county jail. This is the third year of buying cookies from troops within Cass County.
This year, he placed an order with 9-year-old Brooklyn Rathe and 6-year-old Jillian Rathe who are members of Girl Scout Troop 20515 in Weeping Water. They are the daughters of Mark & Candi Rathe.
Sheriff Brueggemann spent $1,225 from the inmate’s commissary fund. They will be made available for sale in the commissary on Wednesdays. Inmate purchases will replenish the fund.
This year, the sheriff purchases Thin Mints, Peanut Butter Patties, Mango Cremes, Lemonaids, Thanks a Lot and D’Lites.
