Is Ohio State Bo's Dream Job?

Tressel's fall from grace hit hard.

"The cover-up is worse than the crime" Mike Marron of Omaha said. "Eventually it was going to happen."

Tressel's involvement in "tattoo gate" where five Buckeye players traded memorabilia for tattoos consisted of his not telling the NCAA about possible violations.

It cost him his job.

"I guess I'm not surprised something happened out there because there were a lot of claims about what had gone on factual or otherwise," Iowa fan John Tiedeman said.

With Tressel out, talk turns to who's next.

"I just hope they keep their hands off our coach," Marron said.

Pelini's name is already being mentioned as a top contender for the Ohio State job.

Many fans believe that if Bo were to leave Nebraska, it would be for that position.

"Being an Ohio State grad, it seems to me that that may be where he'd want to be," Tiedeman said.

"I can tell that he likes coaching football and it probably would because he grew up there and he spent most of his life in Ohio," 10-year-old Husker fan Maeve Hemmer said.

"There would be certainly more pressure than what he had at Nebraska," Tiedeman said.

"Who knows how it pans out," Rob Hemmer said. "All I know is that we're very fortunate to have Bo Pelini here."

Some fans think Athletic Director Tom Osborne may have again been one step ahead of everyone else.

"I'm glad that Coach Osborne extended his contact so I'm sure tom saw it coming and took care of business," Husker fan Paul Gonnell said.

So will Bo stay, or go?

Fans say they won't blame him if he leaves...but one young fan has another wish.

"I hope he doesn't leave," Maeve Hemmer said.

Pelini issued a statement earlier this afternoon saying, "Jim Tressel is an outstanding football coach and a good man. I've followed and respected his career since his days at Youngstown State and through his tremendous success at Ohio State the past decade. He will be missed in college football."

As for when this will all play out, it won't be immediate.

Ohio State also announced long time Assistant Head Coach Luke Fickel will lead the team for the 2011 season.
