While most parents feel their kids are healthier for participating in sports, many admit the snacks, and meals, they eat while juggling practices and games are not the best food choices.
Focus groups of parents who had kids who play sports reveal the most common foods found in sports settings include sweets, salty snacks, sodas and sports drinks.
The parents also said they rely on fast food for meals when they have games or practice. While many knew this was an unhealthy practice, none of the parents said they had attempted to change.
More than 44 million youth participate in organized sports each year.
