An Iowa man wanted in connection with a Christmas day arson at a county-owned building in Knoxville has turned himself in to authorities.

The Iowa Department of Public Safety said David Allen Brommel of
Indianola surrendered at the Warren County Sheriff's Office on
Tuesday afternoon.

The move came after investigators intensified their search for
Brommel, releasing a picture of him and asking for the public's
assistance finding him.

Marion County Sheriff Ron Goemaat said Brommel set fire to a
county-owned building that houses a public transportation
department and other offices.

He said the fire caused "a fairly minimal amount of damage."
Brommel is being held on a second-degree arson charge.

Department of Human Services spokesman Roger Munns said its
office in the building is used part-time and suffered no damage.
