Iowa researchers have been given a $20 million grant to continue and expand their work on energy efficiency and renewable energy sources.
The National Science Foundation grant will be provided over five years for a project that will be led by Robert Brown. He heads Iowa
State University's renewable energy studies.
Some of the money will be spent to study how economists and engineers can combine their expertise in advising lawmakers on energy policy.
The state of Iowa will add $2 million to the project resources.
