Southeast Nebraska, southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri until 4 a.m. Sunday. This includes Omaha, Council Bluffs and Lincoln.
About 80 members of the Iowa National Guard were activated Thursday to help the state’s response to the winter storm.
The soldiers have been assigned to ten different teams on Interstates 80, 35, and 380 to support the Iowa Department of Transportation and Iowa Department of Public Safety.
The activated Soldiers are from the following units (unit locations in parentheses): Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry (Council Bluffs); Company B, 1st Battalion, 168th Infantry (Council Bluffs); 186th Military Police Company (Johnston); 3655th Maintenance Company (Johnston); 1133rd Transportation Company (Mason City); 109th Medical Battalion (Iowa City); Company A, 248th Aviation Support Battalion (Waterloo); Detachment 2, Headquarters Support Company, 248th Aviation Support Battalion (Waterloo); and Detachment 1, Company A, 1st Battalion, 376th Aviation (Security and Support) (Waterloo).
The Iowa National Guard expects the soldiers to remain on state active duty through Friday.
