After a lengthy investigation, Lincoln fire investigators have determined that a January 28th house fire was the result of arson.
The fire was reported at 9:05pm after someone driving in the area of 56th & London saw flames coming from the front porch and interior of a house. Dense fog contributed to the fact that the fire smoldered for some time before it was discovered.
Fire crews battled the fire for more than 30 minutes. The house and its contents were destroyed. While no one was home at the time, three dogs died from smoke inhalation.
The Bureau of Fire Prevention discovered evidence of arson. Interviews have been conducted with neighbors, witnesses, the resident, and the homeowner. Anyone who can help with the investigation is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
