An investigation by the Nebraska State Patrol into last month's deadly school bus crash that killed four shows that both drivers were at fault.
The September 5th crash between the bus and a semi killed 10-year-old Caroline Thallman and 18-year-old Dustin Tesdahl, both Blue Hill students, as well as the semi driver, 21-year-old Travis Witte, and bus driver, 59-year-old Marla Wentworth of Red Cloud. Five others on the bus were injured.
A news release Thursday from the patrol says both vehicles entered a rural intersection at about the same time and both drivers shared some responsibility for the crash.
Webster County Attorney Sara Bockstadter says Wentworth failed to yield at the intersection, as she was required to do, and Witte did not have a commercial driver's license to operate the semi.
